Baseball Game Preview: James River Midlothian Rapids vs. Matoaca Warriors

The James River Midlothian Rapids are taking a road trip to square off against the Matoaca Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (James River Midlothian 3, Matoaca 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

James River Midlothian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Franklin County. The Rapids might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Matoaca waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Mavericks.

James River Midlothian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Matoaca, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.
