Recap: Wheatland-Chili Wildcats vs. Pembroke Dragons
The Wheatland-Chili Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pembroke. Wheatland-Chili has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Wheatland-Chili's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaden Schwenebraten, who scored 28 points, and Leighton Williams who scored 22 points. That was a full 40% of Wheatland-Chili's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wheatland-Chili's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. As for Pembroke, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Wheatland-Chili will be playing in front of their home fans against Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Notre Dame has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Pembroke does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
