Basketball Recap: Washburn Has No Trouble Against Apostolic Christian

While Washburn didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Apostolic Christian 71-50 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

When it comes to explaining why Apostolic Christian lost, don't look at Rogan Bailey. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine boards. Bailey continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Madon Bailey was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Washburn's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Apostolic Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Washburn will head out to square off against Tennessee School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Apostolic Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Bradley Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Apostolic Christian will be up against Bradley Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
