Mineral Point dropped their record down to 13-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 8-0 to the Fennimore Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 back in April.

As for Fennimore, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games.

For Fennimore's part, Tyson Starkey made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Starkey has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Casey Dresen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted over his last seven games. Macoy Miles was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Mineral Point will head out on the road to take on New Glarus at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Glarner Knights have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Fennimore, they will host Darlington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Redbirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.06 runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
