Basketball Recap: Master's Academy Snags 15th Win in Last 16 Games

Master's Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past The First Academy Royals 50-48. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-52 last Friday.

Master's Academy's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Pitts, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points and six boards. Pitts is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Jack Kaley was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Despite the loss, The First Academy still got an impressive performance from Max Simmons, who went 6-for-15 en route to 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Simmons now owns an excellent 40.6% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Cooper Clinger, who posted eight points.

Master's Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points over those games. As for The First Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.

Coming up, Master's Academy will challenge University Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with University Christian sitting on 12 straight victories and Master's Academy on six. The First Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
