Basketball Game Preview: Livingston Lions vs. Tarkington Longhorns

The Livingston Lions will take on the Tarkington Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Livingston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Livingston will head into Friday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 22-point drubbing they dealt Shepherd on Friday. Livingston put the hurt on Shepherd with a sharp 77-55 win. With the Lions ahead 45-20 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Tarkington suffered their biggest loss since November 19, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Hargrave, falling 69-44. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Falcons are ranked 117th).

Livingston has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Tarkington, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-6.
