The Fairhope Pirates will take on the Baker Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairhope's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Baker's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Fairhope is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Foley with a sharp 13-6 victory on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three matches in a row.

Miller Humphries was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three games. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Fairhope let Will Sparks and Bryon Martin run wild. Sparks went 4-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Martin got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Martin has posted over his last seven contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Rock Gearhart, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Fairhope always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foley only posted an OBP of .361.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Baker ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Davidson 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.
Baker's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-13. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fairhope, their victory bumped their record up to 25-9.
Fairhope took their win against Baker in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-4 score. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
