Baseball Recap: Hialeah Educational Academy Victorious

Hialeah Educational Academy proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 12) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Miami Springs Golden Hawks. This was payback for the Biggie, who suffered a 12-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

JADEN LAO tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over 6.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on EISLER PEREZ, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was ERNESTO VELASCO, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Hialeah Educational Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Miami Springs, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Hialeah Educational Academy will take on Mater Academy Charter at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Miami Springs, they will head out to take on Mater Lakes Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
