Baseball Recap: James F. Byrnes' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

James F. Byrnes fell victim to Blythewood and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bengals. The match marked the first time this year in which the Rebels were not able to get on the board.

James F. Byrnes got a good showing from Easton Keels, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Keels also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Rebels are 8-3 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, James F. Byrnes saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Camp, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

The defeat snapped James F. Byrnes' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-12 record. As for Blythewood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
