Baseball Game Preview: Pitman Panthers vs. Paulsboro Red Raiders

The Pitman Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Paulsboro Red Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pitman will be strutting in after a victory while Paulsboro will be coming in after a defeat.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Pitman and Pennsville Memorial, and Pitman kept the tradition alive. The Panthers walked away with a 7-2 win over the Eagles on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Paulsboro's offense. They came up short against West Deptford on Tuesday, falling 20-0. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Pitman has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Paulsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Pitman came out on top in a nail-biter against Paulsboro in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
