Soccer Game Preview: Lehi vs. Westlake

The Lehi Pioneers will head out to face off against the Westlake Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westlake took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lehi, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Lehi needed a bit of extra time to put away Pleasant Grove. They won by a goal and slipped past the Vikings 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Lehi as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

They hit Pleasant Grove with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jesse Baker, Gavin Richards, and Rajid Abudu.

Meanwhile, Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Skyridge, falling 4-1. The matchup was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Westlake it sure didn't stay that way.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Lehi, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-11.

Lehi beat Westlake by a goal in their previous meeting back in April, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
