Soccer Recap: Shawnee Mission Northwest Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mill Valley Jaguars. While losing is never fun, Shawnee Mission Northwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Mill Valley are ranked 14th).

Shawnee Mission Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1. As for Mill Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shawnee Mission Northwest is set to take on their familiar foe Shawnee Mission East on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mill Valley will face off against rival Shawnee Mission South on Tuesday.
