Basketball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus was the 67-49 winner over Dynamic Prep when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Explorers took an 83-67 bruising from the - on Friday.

Dakar Spear continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dynamic Prep, going 7-for-12 en route to 16 points. Spear is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Marcus Spears, who shot 71% from the field on his way to 10 points and six boards.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dynamic Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Columbus and Southeastern Prep Academy National will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Explorers will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 66.36 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
