Basketball Recap: Ten Straight Home Wins for Temple Christian

Temple Christian had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Jessie Dejesus did his part to make it ten on Saturday. The Temple Christian Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 victory over the Midland Classical Academy Knights thanks in part to Dejesus, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Page, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Temple Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Midland Classical Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Temple Christian will venture away from home to take on Lubbock Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Midland Classical Academy, they will welcome Lake Country Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
