Volleyball Recap: Mater Brighton Lakes Academy Comes Up Short

Mater Brighton Lakes Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ducks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

Mater Brighton Lakes Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14, 25-20.

Mater Brighton Lakes Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Mater Brighton Lakes Academy will take on George Jenkins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they will face off against Trinity Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
