Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Canfield

Canfield entered their tilt with South Range on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Raiders. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by exactly three runs.

Zain Jadallah made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Jackson Johnson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Tanner Stricko, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Louie Zorella, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Canfield's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for South Range, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canfield will welcome Coventry at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals are facing the Comets at the right time seeing as the Comets are stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for South Range, they will be playing at home against Garfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
