Joel Ortega posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. He tossed two innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits, which was good enough to set a new career-low in earned runs.

Looking ahead, Ortega and Ruidoso will take on Bosque at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sadly, Ortega's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped Ruidoso's three-game streak of wins at home.
