Basketball Recap: Ironwood Ridge's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The third road matchup was the charm for Ironwood Ridge, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 66-54 win over the Sunnyside Blue Devils on Tuesday. For the Nighthawks, this counts as revenge for the 78-72 victory the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ironwood Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Brown, who posted 24 points. Brown's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kyler Holthaus, who scored 14 points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Ironwood Ridge's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-7. As for Sunnyside, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ironwood Ridge will challenge Canyon del Oro at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ironwood Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Sunnyside, they will square off against Vista Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
