Recap: Herron Achaeans vs. Indianapolis Washington Continentals
The Herron Achaeans can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 62-41 margin over Indianapolis Washington. The victory was just what Herron needed coming off of a 61-19 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Herron to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaycianna Clark, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Clark has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Foerster, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the defeat, Indianapolis Washington had strong showings from Amaia Woods, who scored 11 points, and Malaysha Flanagan, who scored 18 points. That was a full 43.9% of Indianapolis Washington's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Herron is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. As for Indianapolis Washington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Herron will face off against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Indianapolis Washington, they will head out on the road to take on Bethesda Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bethesda Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Indianapolis Washington in Indiana (Bethesda Christian is ranked 140th, while Indianapolis Washington is ranked 394th).
