Softball Recap: Leigh Takes a Loss

Leigh was the 8-1 winner over Wilcox when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Longhorns took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by exactly five runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Leigh and nudges their season record down to 3-11-1. As for Wilcox, they moved to 6-10 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Leigh will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Santa Teresa at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th. The Longhorns are facing the Saints at the right time seeing as the Saints are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Wilcox, they have already played their next match, a 14-4 win against Homestead on the 8th.
