Football Recap: Grafton Gators vs. Tantasqua Regional Warriors
While Grafton put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Tantasqua Regional. The Grafton Gators breezed by the Tantasqua Regional Warriors to the tune of 42-0. Considering the Gators have won six matches by more than 30 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Grafton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Finn Gilmore led the charge by rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Gilmore's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season. Jacob Lupien also helped out as he racked up 108 rushing yards.
Grafton wouldn't let Tantasqua Regional keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Cayden Kelly, Griffin Landry, and Brendan McMahon picked up one apiece.
The victory for Grafton keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. As for Tantasqua Regional, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-3.
Grafton will head out to challenge Shepherd Hill Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grafton is facing Shepherd Hill Regional at the right time seeing as Shepherd Hill Regional is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tantasqua Regional, they will face off against Nashoba Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
