On Saturday, the Cozad Haymakers got the win against the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers by a conclusive 69-48. The Haymakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Cozad's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noah Shoemaker led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Shoemaker has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Strauss, who went 5 for 7 to rack up 12 points.

When it comes to explaining why Dundy County-Stratton lost, don't look at Lane Bybee. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 19 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. The game was Bybee's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was August Shaw, who went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Cozad is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Dundy County-Stratton, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
