Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pierce County). They claimed a resounding 85-57 victory over the Appling County Pirates. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Appling County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nate Davis posted 15 points. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Noah Henderson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Pierce County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Appling County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.

Pierce County and Appling County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Pierce County (ranked 396th) will meet Union County (ranked 81st) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Appling County will face off against Morgan County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday down 298 places (437 vs. 139).
