Rio Vista entered their tilt with Italy on Thursday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They came out on top against the Gladiators by a score of 10-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-5 last Friday.

Kailee Dyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ayden Greenslade, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Alyssa Swindle was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Rio Vista's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Italy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.

Rio Vista wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Axtell on the 24th. As for Italy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 21-13 loss against Dawson on the 24th.
