Basketball Recap: Rock Ridge Takes a Loss

Rock Ridge lost against Loudoun Valley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rock Ridge Phoenix fell to the Loudoun Valley Vikings 59-53. The Phoenix have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Rock Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore A.K Mo made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc to post 33 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Mo's evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was D.K Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Rock Ridge now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Loudoun Valley, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6.

Rock Ridge and Dominion will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Rock Ridge is facing Dominion at the right time seeing as Dominion is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Loudoun Valley, they and Broad Run will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Broad Run knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Loudoun Valley likes a good challenge.
