Basketball Recap: Jack Kriebel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lititz Christian over Dayspring Christian Academy

Lititz Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 66-54 to the Dayspring Christian Academy Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 62-45 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Lititz Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Kriebel, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. The match was Kriebel's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Caeden Harmon was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Lititz Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Dayspring Christian Academy was led to victory by Noah Huxta and Gabe Mellinger. Huxta went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points in addition to four steals and three blocks, while Mellinger went 7 for 10 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Huxta is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Kauffman, who posted four points and three steals.

Lititz Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Lititz Christian will welcome Christian School of York at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they will head out to challenge Covenant Christian Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
