Archbishop Mitty and Rocklin squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Archbishop Mitty had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Thunder by a score of 3-2. The Monarchs' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Archbishop Mitty actually scored more points across those five sets (102-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-21, 16-25, 16-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Rocklin found their leader in sophomore Sophie Burns, who had 11 digs and three aces. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Burns.

Archbishop Mitty's defeat dropped their record down to 33-4. As for Rocklin, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 22 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 37-4 record this season.

Archbishop Mitty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rocklin, they will host Mater Dei at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
