Recap: Hobbton Wildcats vs. Northampton County Jaguars
The Hobbton Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 36 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 54-36 fall against Northampton County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (35), Hobbton still had to take the loss.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashawd Wynn, who picked up 283 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Wynn is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Cole Weeks was another key contributor, throwing for 360 yards and three touchdowns.
Northampton County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but A?trielle Barnes led the charge by rushing for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ji'Youn Williams, who rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
Hobbton now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Northampton County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Hobbton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northampton County will head out on the road to face off against Tarboro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tarboro has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 422 points over their last nine matches.
