Howells-Dodge proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 33) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the North Bend Central Tigers 63-61. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

North Bend Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Layne Ruzicka, who posted 24 points. The match was his fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Drew Sterup was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Howells-Dodge's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. As for North Bend Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Howells-Dodge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-52 loss against Lutheran-Northeast on the 21st. As for North Bend Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-51 defeat against Fort Calhoun on the 21st.
