Basketball Game Preview: Crestview Rebels vs. LaBrae Vikings

Crestview is 1-9 against LaBrae since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Crestview Rebels are taking a road trip to challenge the LaBrae Vikings at 7:00 p.m.

Crestview is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Garfield on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Crestview came up short against Garfield, falling 60-35. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 686th, while the G-Men are ranked 328th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask LaBrae). They claimed a resounding 74-45 win over Southeast. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

LaBrae is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Crestview, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Crestview came up short against LaBrae in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 51-43. Can Crestview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
