Volleyball Game Preview: Milan Indians vs. Jac-Cen-Del Eagles + How To Watch

The Milan Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Milan has four straight victories, Jac-Cen-Del has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Milan had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Lawrenceburg on Tuesday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers.

Milan found their leader in freshman Makenleigh Baylor, who had 11 digs and three aces.

Milan was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive matchups.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Jac-Cen-Del and Morristown, and Morristown kept the tradition alive. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellow Jackets 25-20 in the first set.

Jac-Cen-Del started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-23.

Milan's win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Jac-Cen-Del, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Everything went Milan's way against Jac-Cen-Del when the teams last played back in September, as Milan made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
