Basketball Recap: Williamsport Takes a Loss

Williamsport fought the good fight in their overtime game against State College on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to the State College Little Lions. The Millionaires haven't had much luck with the Little Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

It was another big night for Reed Melvin, who went 8 of 14 en route to 21 points and three steals for State College. Another player making a difference was Charlie Yartz, who posted 14 points.

Williamsport's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for State College, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cumberland Valley the next time they take the court. State College will host Cumberland Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Williamsport will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
