Basketball Recap: Borrego Springs Rams vs. Warner Wildcats
After soaring to 65 points the game before, the Borrego Springs Rams were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 49-24 walloping at the hands of Warner. Borrego Springs was down 41-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Warner was led to victory by Angel Carachure and Anthony Porras. Carachure scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Porras scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Porras is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played. Omar Acosta was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Borrego Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Warner, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.
Borrego Springs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. As for Warner, they will head out on the road to challenge the RoadRunners at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Calexico Mission is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
