Highland had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bronte Longhorns 36-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since December 17, 2024.

Highland found their leader in sophomore Ayden Peacock, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Elliott Eaker, who earned eight points.
