Baseball Recap: Savanna Comes Up Short

Savanna extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-14. They lost 12-0 to the Drumright Tornadoes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on Thursday.

As for Drumright, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. The result was nothing new for Drumright, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Drumright's part, Jagger Willing was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave Willing a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sammy Blackburn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Conrad Reed was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Savanna does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Drumright, they will take on Cleveland at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
