Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Classen Knights vs. Union Redhawks

The Northwest Classen Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Union Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Union took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Northwest Classen, who comes in off a win.

Northwest Classen took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Marshall by a score of 5-0. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Sam McClure was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. Rey Perez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Edmond Santa Fe. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Redhawks have suffered since May 1, 2024.

Northwest Classen's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
