Soccer Game Preview: Mandeville vs. St. Michael

The Mandeville Skippers will challenge the St. Michael Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Mandeville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Fontainebleau, who was ranked 15th at the time (Mandeville was ranked 13th). Mandeville fell just short of Fontainebleau by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Skippers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Michael). They never let Plaquemine onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Warriors needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

The defeat snapped Mandeville's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-7-4 record. As for St. Michael, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8-1.

Mandeville skirted past St. Michael 1-0 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Will Mandeville repeat their success, or does St. Michael have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
