Football Game Preview: Mountain View Toros vs. Desert Ridge Jaguars + How To Watch

The Mountain View Toros will face off against the Desert Ridge Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mountain View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: ALA - Queen Creek, who was ranked 13th at the time (Mountain View was ranked eighth). The Toros fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 24-22 on Friday. The Toros have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brady Goodman, who threw for 250 yards and three TDs. He has become a key player for Mountain View: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. The Toros' leading receiver Zachary Galaviz was Goodman's top target yet again, picking up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Desert Ridge fell victim to Highland and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 56-0 defeat at the hands of the Hawks. The Jaguars have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Desert Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Mountain View against Desert Ridge in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-0 win. Will the Toros repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
