Basketball Game Preview: New Kent Trojans vs. Jamestown Eagles

New Kent and Jamestown are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The New Kent Trojans will take on the Jamestown Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, New Kent ended up a good deal behind Grafton and lost 61-44. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Clippers are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, Jamestown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They fell 52-41 to Warhill.

New Kent's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Jamestown, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

New Kent didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jamestown when the teams last played last Monday, but they still walked away with a 42-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Kent since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
