Volleyball Recap: Casey-Westfield Warriors vs. Salem Wildcats
Casey-Westfield lost against Salem back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Warriors fell 2-0 to the Wildcats.
Hannah Schackmann paced Casey-Westfield's offense, picking up six kills. Schackmann got some help from Haley Schackmann and her nine assists. Haley was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Salem got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lauren Brubaker out in front who had 13 assists and eight digs. Those eight digs gave Brubaker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Morgan Kurwicki, who had ten digs.
Casey-Westfield has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-12 record this season. As for Salem, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.
Casey-Westfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Hamilton County on the 25th. As for Salem, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Civic Memorial on the 25th.
