Basketball Recap: Rockwood Summit Comes Up Short

Rockwood Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 44-22 to the Whitefield Academy Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 266th in Missouri, while the Wildcats are ranked 70th in Kentucky).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whitefield Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noel Smith, who posted ten points along with five boards and four steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Ring, who earned nine points and five rebounds.

Rockwood Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Whitefield Academy, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Rockwood Summit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-22 loss against Assumption on the 8th. As for Whitefield Academy, they have also already played their next match, a 54-19 win against Bullitt Central on the 10th.
