Basketball Recap: Urbana Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Urbana extended their home winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Peyton Mounce. The Urbana Hillclimbers really took it to the Jonathan Alder Pioneers for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-27 victory thanks in part to Mounce, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 boards. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Urbana's points.

Another player making a difference was Alexandra Dixon, who posted ten points. What's more, she also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

Urbana's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Jonathan Alder, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

When Urbana and Jonathan Alder next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Urbana will take on Legacy Christian Academy and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Urbana is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. Similarly, Jonathan Alder will try to stop Southeastern Local's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
