Section 2 D - South recap Sept. 26, 2012
Rensselaer extended the longest winning streak in Section 2 D - South this week by beating Canajoharie, 26-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Rams.
Greenwich moved up to 242 from 304 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Witches climbed the ranks as a result of a 54-0 win over Catholic Central.
Cambridge's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ethan English has thrown for 360 yards and one touchdown this season, while Caleb Rowland has six catches for 146 yards. Matt Parmenter leads the league in rushing with 634 yards.
Two of the top units in Section 2 D - South will face off this week when Cambridge takes on the Crusaders. The Indians' offense has racked up 140 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Catholic Central has allowed only 162 on the year.
Greenwich took down the Crusaders 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
