Softball Recap: Gateway College Preparatory's Undefeated Season over After 17 Games

After flying high against Lampasas last Tuesday, Gateway College Preparatory came back down to earth. Gateway College Preparatory came up short against the Salado Eagles on Friday, falling 8-2. The loss continues a trend for the Gators in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Gateway College Preparatory saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tara Bryson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gateway College Preparatory fell to 14-1-2. As for Salado, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Gateway College Preparatory and Salado should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Gateway College Preparatory (ranked 37th) will meet Taylor (ranked 767th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Salado will square off against Jarrell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 606 places (36 vs. 642).
