Softball Game Preview: Eureka Loggers vs. Fortuna Huskies

The Eureka Loggers will venture away from home to face off against the Fortuna Huskies at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eureka comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Eureka fell victim to Del Norte and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Warriors. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 3rd, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Fortuna got the win against Arcata on Saturday by a conclusive 16-7. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Fortuna and bumps their season record up to 18-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Eureka, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-19-1.

Eureka came up short against Fortuna when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 10-6. Can the Loggers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
