Escondido Charter came tearing into Friday's matchup with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Tri-City Christian Eagles. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 28-0 win on Wednesday.

Silas Telfer made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Escondido Charter got a massive performance out of Sam Romero, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Nathan Reyes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Escondido Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-City Christian only posted an OBP of .296.

Escondido Charter pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Tri-City Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escondido Charter will head out to challenge Coastal Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Stingrays have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Tri-City Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Calvin Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
