Basketball Game Preview: Lake Braddock Bruins vs. Hayfield Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Lake Braddock Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Hayfield Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lake Braddock is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They breezed past Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology to the tune of 63-33. The Bruins pushed the score to 44-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Colonials had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Hayfield entered their tilt with Edison on Friday with nine consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with ten. They had just enough and edged out the Eagles 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted against the Eagles since February 25, 2023.

Hayfield pushed their record up to 21-5 with the win, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points over those games. As for Lake Braddock, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Lake Braddock suffered a grim 103-83 defeat to Hayfield in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Can Lake Braddock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
