It was a good run, but DeKalb unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They received a blow as they fell 58-39 to the Bluffton Tigers. The Barons were down 47-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Isabella Stout was her usual excellent self, putting up 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Bluffton. Stout's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madyson Sonnigsen, who posted 12 points and six boards.

DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Bluffton, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

DeKalb will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbia City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (DeKalb has won three straight at home, while Columbia City won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Bluffton, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bluffton Tigers take on the Eastbrook Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bluffton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.5 points per game this season.
