Sipsey Valley's Trey White recorded the longest rushing play in 3A Region 3 this season in his game against American Christian Academy last week. White's team defeated the Patriots as he sprinted for 81 yards on the play and finished with 136 in all.
Fayette County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Northside, 42-21. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Antonio Ford's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Garret Lewis threw for 206 and three touchdowns and Logan Averette had 69 yards receiving. Braylan Smith helped Sipsey Valley's passing attack out by catching three balls for 46 yards.
Lewis has thrown for 1649 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Smith has 24 catches for 709 yards. Lewis also leads the league in rushing with 632 yards.
Greensboro took down Greene County 68-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Quante Brown threw for 113 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
