Soccer Recap: Triad Extends Winning Streak to Six

Triad barely beat Civic Memorial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over the Eagles on Thursday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Triad's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Civic Memorial are ranked 188th).

Triad hit Civic Memorial with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from London Looby, Claire Gough, Sophie Bohnak, and Paige Schmelzer.

The win (which was Triad's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those six matchups. As for Civic Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Triad will welcome Cor Jesu Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Civic Memorial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Father McGivney Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
